I bought this cute little octopus from [link] a few weeks ago and finally gave him a nice home on this ndebele ripple necklace. I was laid up at home with a really nasty cold all weekend, so I pretty much spent all my time wrapped in a blanket on the sofa with a nice cup of hot tea and my beading tray. I guess it's a good way of making lemonade if you're given lemons...

For the necklace I threaded two separate ndebele strips and folded the ends over to make a pointed area where the two strips are coming together at the front. I then used the octopus and another art glass bead to connect the two strips. At the back a simple art glass bead and loop form the closure. Because of the tapered design it has a really lovely fit around the neck.
