(2006) 12"x9" Pencil on Paper
The third in my series of lizard drawings, probably two more to follow. This one depicts a Tokay Gecko licking his eyes in good gecko fashion. I think of all geckos they are probably the most attractive and "gecko-ish" ones, they are also some of the fiercest lizards imaginable. I once had a run-in with one of them at a friend's house and managed to get bitten on the side of my hand, which was fine, until I realized he was so tenacious he wouldn't let go. My friend eventually ran a sink of water and had me submerge my hand plus gecko, when he finally un-chomped me because he had to come up for air... Still, no hard feelings - a lizard's got to do what a lizard's got to do, and if stupid humans stick their fingers where they don't belong, then all bets are off. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
