Description
(2016), 9"x1.5", Size 11 Delica beads (dark raspberry metallic DB0004, white-lined dark mauve DB1790, white-lined amethyst DB1789, light grey ab DB1508, white ab DB1500) worked in a combination of increasing Ndebele and Peyote stitch, sterling silver end-beads, silver-lined grey size 15 seed beads for the fringe, fireline, 2 push-buttons
The construction of the individual triangles that make up this bracelet is based on the Jean Power instructions for square beads. However, instead of making three-dimensional beads I took the square pattern to extremes where it folds over into a triangle shape. I then connected up the individual triangles into a flexible bracelet that can be either worn as a spiky circle or folded over as a bangle.
The circle closes with a pair of push-buttons that snap the triangle on the tip over the first triangle at the end to make for a seamless look. When worn in the spiked arrangement this makes for quite a focal piece of jewelry, though a tad impractical if you need to do some writing or typing on your computer...
A single triangle would also make a really cool bail for a beaded pendant where the tips hold the pendant in place and the necklace slips through where the triangle is folded over...
