(2006) 5" x 3" for the lantern component. Blue opalescent glass, glass cabs, copper foil, lead solder, hardware store bought chain, rings and wall bracket.

I made a series of four of these and fixed them to the inside of our garden fence where they make for some lovely illumination in the evening. They are a little deeper than the series of free-standing lanterns I made earlier [link]

I really like the misty, opalescent look they have when they are lit. As usual it all comes down to the glass!

Very nice! I bet your backyard is a wonderfully cozy place to relax at night.

Thank you! I really regard it as a sanctuary - with all the travel for work coming home and being home are very important to me.

Thank you! We have an old town center nearby with a lot of shops that sell local crafts. They might consider taking a consignment. (Now I just need to get a whole bunch of them worked up... Oh where to find time!)

We have the occasional party, but I travel a lot for work, so I'm quite the homebody and recluse when I am actually at home. Best way I can see myself spending a summer evening is lighting all the little candles, filling a nice glass of velvety red wine and sitting in a deck chair by the pool watching the reflections and chilling out. Perfect!

From the three glass pieces at the top, to the glow at the bottom. Has a nice look and effect to it. :D
