(2008) 3" x 2 1/4" for the pendant, 15" for the overall necklace. Silver art clay (shaped, carved, fired, antiqued, polished and burnished), opal cab, bezel wire, black and green opalescent enamel, faceted onyx, green agate and silver beads, silver S-clasp finding, fireline.
This is the second project using beautiful cut gemstones from
This elongated opal cab just needed a spectacular setting, and I decided to have it sit at the center of a black, enameled heart shape. The little green agate beads on the necklace pick up on the subtle green sparks of fire in the opal and really bring out its superb quality.
Opals have long been thought to be cursed stones bringing ill fortune to their wearers - however, I am very partial to them, and for this necklace I like the playful, yet subtly sinister feel of wearing a black heart, just appropriate for a little bit of evil mischief for the holidays.
Last submission for 2008! It's been an exceptionally good and productive year - hope 2009 will bring more of the same. Happy New Year everyone!
Thanks for the offer. I can't do something like that now(dont have paypal or stuff set up) But give it a little while and I may reappear asking for a commission. It should be soon.
LOVE IT!
