(2006) 3.5" x 3.25" delica beads (matte black, matte dark olive, matte dark grey, silver-lined white opal, lined peach, silver-lined pale red, silver-lined red, lined garnet, matte avocado, matte transparent avocado, silver-lined green opal, 14 carat gold) size 15 seed beads (14 carat gold), nylon thread.

I based this design of three interlinking hibiscus flowers on traditional Japanese trefoil crests, such as the aoi of the Tokugawa family, wanting something summery and intense in color, but also formal and elegant and somewhat abstract.

Very beautiful. You have such talent and you work so quickly, how do you do it? :)

Thank you! I pretty much spend my evenings beading. Hubby is a bit of a telly addict, so that gives me time to keep him company without dying of boredom at the same time...

so beautiful!

I would imagine these take forever to do. I do much smaller versions and it takes me over an hour to do a piece that is 8 beads wide and about an inch tall :(

Thank you! I think the more you do the quicker you become. A pattern like this would have freaked me out a few years ago, now I can't wait to sink my teeth into it....

I love this one! The pattern reminds me so much of Japanese crest designs.
Yeah, sometimes I need to just work in front of the tube, 'cause I'm to tired to draw in front of observation. For me its crochet & knitting, though I would love to learn how to bead!
I really love the colors...keep up the great work! :D :rose: :winner:

I know what you are saying, I have the same thing here with my dh.

Let's make a toast to dh's watching telly, so we can create :)

:jawdrop: It's gorgeous! I would probably go blind tring to do this beautiful craft. The beads are so small, and tring to get the pattern right. I am in awe of your talent.
