(2007) Approximately 1 1/2"x2". Silver Art Clay, pure silver wire, green transparent enamel, liver of sulphur.
This replica of Slytherin's locket that will be on the cover of the British adult version of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was commissioned by
I took a few liberties with the original, such as not make a locket, but rather a medallion, and instead of setting a gazillion of small cut emerals into the design I used green enamel to highlight the letter, but the rest of it is pretty authentic.
I first cut the oval out of a piece of rolled out clay and added the silver wire on top. After drying I carved the "S" and the ornamentation into the greenware, fired it, cleaned it, added the enamel, fired again and finally antiqued and polished the silver to bring out the detail.
The final piece also has a bail finding added at the top, but as I really needed to get it to the post office at that time, I didn't take another shot of it.
this could be so perfect with my ball dress..
