(2008) 3" x 1.5" for the pendant, 16" for the overall necklace. Silver art clay (shaped, carved, fired, antiqued, polished and burnished), lab opal cab, pure silver wire, bezel wire, opalescent blue enamel, silver bail finding.
This pendant is my first experiment of fusing metal wire with the fired art clay. I carved and fired the basic shape, then added the bezel wire and the shaped round wire for the spiral accents. I also placed a few small fired clay spheres to look like seeds in between the round wires. After a second firing I added the blue enamel, refired, and finally set the stone and antiqued the silver.
The display chain this time is not made by me but a trollbead chain I got as an early Christmas present. It's a very nice Viking weave design...
