(2012) 9"x 3", Size 15 seed beads (dark ruby, black, silver-lined orange iris, silver-lined champagne) carnelian beads, polyester thread.

I had done this design once before as part of my zodiac series, where it represented Leo. It also has fire colors but quite a different feel.



This version of the pattern is my part of an art trade with :iconmannie-g: who had asked for a color scheme that would fit her character Surtr [link]

I love the cooler reds you chose for this piece, which really make the carnelian beads pop. This could be worn with blue as easily as gold and would flatter many skin tones, which is seldom true for fire tones.

Thank you! I think the deep ruby red has a bit of blue in it which would indeed make it a good combination!

Elegant, as always. Just one thing though, I think it would look better if those bigger beads had been darker.

Thank you! Yeah, that's the problem with gemstones sometimes. Carnelian tends towards the orange. For darker at affordable prices it's usually garnet, and that's already very dark...
