Just having fun with some new Toho seed beads. I love the green-gold metallic beads they produce. Tohos don't seem to be as ubiquitous in the US as Miyukis, but lovely and uniform in size in an array of striking colors and finishes. Definitely worth taking a little more time finding them!
In Dallas The Artful Bead in Carrollton carries a decent selection, and online Beads East [link] is a good bet.
I did a kind of photo progression for a similar bracelet here: [link] Also if you look in my scraps [link] you'll find a few free patterns and more detailed information on how to make increasing and decreasing peyote (which is the technique you need to know for these bracelets).
ah toho eh? I hought they were miyuki I mainly use matsuno simply because that what i collected most of before... am slowly trying to increase my miyuki's though... u like toho better then miyuki?
I've always been a big user of miyuki, so I'm quite used to their colors and textures - they still have the biggest palette and they will always be my mainstay. in quality they are really as good as the tohos. However tohos have some colors and textures that I haven't seen before, so they will be some welcome additions, I believe. In matsunos I love the silver-lined square hole ones, because of the fabulous glitter they have.
haha those are mainly the ones i like! matsuno does have some trul wonderful colours and they work bliss especially in spirals but i must say having just started a quick little new embroidery with miyuki the smooth lines you create work much neater.. big fan LOL
