Snowflakes by Ellygator Snowflakes by Ellygator
(2015), 1.5" diameter each, size 11 and 15 seed beads, superduo beads, 4mm crystal beads, crystal ab rivolis

I made these last year as Christmas presents for family and friends and couldn't post them as not to spoil the surprise. I used a variety of white and crystal beads to make the little round ornaments look like snow-flakes.

I bought the design from a clever bead artist on etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/153817077…

When I made these little pretties I also beaded a few stars for my own tree - change the colors and you get a completely different effect!

These look familiar! :)  In all seriousness, it's delightful to see how many variations you can create with such a simple design.  My ornaments hang in my studio, which is suitably light-filled so that I can enjoy them.

Thanks! Somehow I missed posting them the year I originally made them. First I didn't want to give away the game before I had gifted them, and then Christmas was over and it seemed a little lame to post when most people had already taken their trees down.

Then this last Christmas I repaired two of my sister-in-laws stars (she has two little boys, so some collateral is to be expected...) and it reminded me that I still had photos of the whole merry band of stars before they got sent to all my favorite people, so this time round they got posted!

Thank you! I saw the white ones again when I was at my brother's place for Christmas. My sister-in-law had made a really cute door decoration out of them.

Thank you! I had fun varying the colors. Even though it's always the same pattern it made each snowflake look so different.

The whole set took a few weeks, but each star actually works up pretty quickly...
