(2006) 8x1.5" for the bracelet and 10x1.5" for the closed necklace. Sterling silver wire (20, 12), banded brown agate beads, Bali Silver spacers, toggle clasp findings, fireline.

The title of this matching set is derived from the name of the very dense and ornate maille that I used both for the pendant and for the bracelet. I love the thick, heavy feel of the assembled silver rings, and the elegant square swirls of the pattern. 12 gauge silver wire on the edges is keeping the maille straight and prevents any folding or floppiness. I think I will get a lot of mileage especially out of the bracelet this winter.

Instructions for voodoo maille courtesy of this site: [link] though the description breaks off just when it's getting interesting and it took me quite a bit of trial, error and plentiful cussing to get to the bottom of the construction.

That is amazing! I mean, all your work is amazing, but this is even more amazing that usual.... that maille weave is incredable! it looks so intricate. For some reason it reminds me of velvet, it's got that deep, lush, luxurious texture to it... does it take long to work up once you've got the hang of it? I certainly looks like it uses up a LOT of rings, that bracelet looks like it must be heavy... and I love the agate you've used in the necklace, that chain looks beautifully understated. Very elegant.

I really like this....

Wow, that's lovely! I bet it was a real pain to construct but definately worth it, the interlinked loops give it a very textural feel....
