My first attempt to translate my carving technique into a ring design. This is kind of hitting the lower limit of possible detail that can be achieved in this fashion. Below that the clay becomes too fragile and brittle to take carving and firing.
This particular moonstone cab had some really lovely blue fire and made a good companion piece to the one I put into the related bracelet. [link]

This looks great! I think that it would have looked even better if the metal that surrounds the stone would have been more... "melted in" to the rest of the ring, if you know what I mean.. but maybe that's just me.. It's a very beautiful ring anyways!
