(2007) approximately size 6, Silver Art Clay (shaped, carved, fired, antiqued and polished), bezel wire, moonstone cab

My first attempt to translate my carving technique into a ring design. This is kind of hitting the lower limit of possible detail that can be achieved in this fashion. Below that the clay becomes too fragile and brittle to take carving and firing.

This particular moonstone cab had some really lovely blue fire and made a good companion piece to the one I put into the related bracelet. [link]

Hi! Your works are amazing! Is there a possibility to buy them? if yes, how much are they?

Thank you! I do work on commission basis. My Etsy store is just for bead patterns these days. If you'd like to note me maybe we can work something out.

This looks great! :) I think that it would have looked even better if the metal that surrounds the stone would have been more... "melted in" to the rest of the ring, if you know what I mean.. but maybe that's just me..
It's a very beautiful ring anyways! :D

Thank you, and yeah, that's the point where traditional metalsmithing wins out over clay. You can be neater with real silver...

Stunning work! It has a very fantasy like quality to it. One of my friends works with stuff like that, I wish I could. This is lovely, nice work!
