Way too long since I last posted here, but I have been just way too busy over the last few weeks. I've signed with another client, was made an emergency project manager for a tech project that they needed done (steeeep learning curve), sent to Paris to kick said project off, spent a week at home and caught up with my Mum on her 70th birthday in Germany, flew out to Jackson to follow-up on another prospect, caught a horrible cold and battled it out standing (no time to stay in bed a few days) and still tried to honor my back-log of commissions.

So if you are waiting on a piece: be sure I have not forgotten you - things are just a little slower than usual, because I can't devote much time to art these days.

Well, it's finally happened. I am in business for myself as an independent consultant. Took me long enough to procrastinate and make up my mind, but now that I've done it, I am very happy and energized and optimistic about it. I already have two wonderful clients and several other great prospects and I really think I can do this and truly work on what I feel passionate about: training project managers, helping companies and organizations through major business change and facilitating meetings and workshops. Well, I've been busier these past weeks than I really care to be, and there will be more to come, but sometimes when you want to get someplace in life you have to give first. And right now, my focus is work and I am on the brink of being able to get to where I want to be, so it seems it's a worth-while effort.

Anyone looking at my gallery knows I'm somewhat of a Tarot nut, and I usually do quite a few readings for myself and for friends. One thing I regularly do in January is look at my annual card which you get by counting up the numbers of your birth date and month with the current year, so for me that is 13+8+2008 = 2029, then reduce again until you get a number below 21, the number of Major Arcana: 2+2+9 = 13.

My card therefore for 2008 is XIII Death. So I know changes are afoot, and I have already seen the card alive and well in just the first three months of the year. Some of it hurt, some of it has me excited and overall I tell you it feels a damn sight better than XII The Hanged Man I had last year. I was stuck in what seemed an endless loop of going nowhere.

In any case, I am not saying this is my fate or any kind of true divination, this is simply a lesson that I choose to focus on for this year, to deal with ends and with new beginnings, to slough of my old skin and start over with a pretty new one, to "die" and step out of my comfort zone and to reinvent myself.

Still, I managed to finally got caught up with my backlog, and for the first time in weeks my DA finally showed 0 Messages and 0 Deviations. I will fall behind again, and I do apologize. I may even cave and clear out everything at some point if things get too mad...

In other news has made me this for a belated Christmas present. Thank you so much, Melissa, you are so kind for thinking of me and making me such a personal gift. I am now permanently camped behind my front door waiting for the post-van!
