Before we get started, a quick acknowledgment of a fictitious birthday. If Nagini hadn't felt particularly peckish on that fateful night in spring, Severus Snape would have turned 50 today. Happy Birthday, Severus!

And just to show the bandwidth of inspiration from romantic to tragical to comical, here are some of my Severus faves. The man surely has become a cultural icon since he first snarled and stalked his way into our collective hearts and into Harry's nightmares in "The Philosopher's Stone"

Well, I for one have to admit that I am happy to see 2009 over and done with. The year saw my business nearly tank, the cancer-diagnosis of a relative, money worries out the wazoo, too many sleepless nights, zero vacations, a total write-off of my old car and an accident of my brand-new car. I know some folks here have been through much worse, but I really am glad to have the last 12 months over and done with.

Art-wise not much happened, except that I have had less time for it than I would have wished. I did make some good advances in beadwork, including some ambitious brick-stitch and 3D projects and the whole series of Shoowa bracelets. Drawing stalled a little - I had time for some HP fan-art, but nothing on the scale of my tarot - as did my silver-clay work, and I didn't make a single art glass bead or decent stained glass project all year!

I would like to announce here with a flourish, that I have marvelous and ambitious projects planned for 2010, but I'd be lying. And we all know what they say about resolutions and good intentions - flagstones on the road to hell, all of them. So I will just see what I can get up to. All I can promise is that I have some nice knot-work ideas for silver-clay, that HP fan-art is not dead yet, even though I seem to have taken quite a break these past few months, and that I have some cool patterns planned out for more beadwork.

Oh I'm wishing you the best for this new year...
Thanks for featuring my work once again.
It really doesn't feel nice when you don't have inspiration or the time to draw...

You are very welcome. I hope you have a good year, too. It was depressing to hear about all the bad news from Greece with first all the fires in 2008 and then all the unrest and civil unhappiness in 2009 (I know the news stations always report the worst, not the best, but still...)

Hope we can get some good art out there in 2010!

Here's wishing you an awesome 2010!
I'm sorry to hear all the troubles you had last year and I know how frustrating it is when you don't seem to get the time to do anything.

If you're ever in London and have some time to spare, give me a holler and I'll come down to meet you!

Will do! It was easier with my former employer, because they had offices in London, but you never know!

Ah, Sev's birthday! It will sound crazy, but I almost forgot that he died, because in my version of things he is saved and we live happily ever after ;P I'm too much of an optimist, duh...

And yes, 2010... I hope this year will be better for everyone, especially you. I lost hope concerning my own art, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :aww: You're so talented, in so many ways...

Hey, I can live with the idea of a surviving Snape! I think he deserved to live!

Well, I just thought Dumbledore might want to pay his debts, and so in the last moment Fawkes appears and sheds his healing tears onto Snape's neck :P

...damn, I wish this was the canon version :lmao:
