Description
(2009) 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", paper mache, tempera paint, metallic paints and glazes, ribbon
The last of the four Death Eater masks I made this August. For this mask I used the drill to texture the mask surface once the body was finished and before priming and painting. This way the "metal" outside of the silvered inlay pattern looks like it was hammered into shape. Again, while the design is loosely based on the movie masks from the HP films, the actual pattern, mouth grille shape etc. are original.

The texture is just amazing. I like how complex and frightening it looks.
