Description
(2008) 2.5" for the pendant including bail, 16" for the necklace. Silver clay (shaped, carved, fired, enameled and antiqued) enamel (taupe and russet), tiger's eye and sunstone beads, silver lentil beads, Hill Tribe silver beads, silver wire, clasp finding.
Finally I'm back to doing clay work, and with some commissions coming up and some Christmas presents on the way, there should be more in the next few weeks.
For the four element pendants I chose the traditional alchemistical triangle symbols, a triangle pointing upwards for Air and Fire, a triangle pointing downwards for Water and Earth. The triangles for Air and Earth also have a horizontal line bisecting it, which I tried to incorporate by giving those two pendants more of a horizontal composition, and Fire and Water pendants more of a vertical one.
I carved the design of a tree and roots into the Earth pendant and then filled the carved areas with enamel powder. After firing I matched the colors with gemstones that fit best with the hues, in this case dark tiger's eye rondelle beads and some sunstone accents to pick up on the reddish hues of the taupe.
