The Peacock King

For this mask I glued a semicircle of cardboard to the top of the mask armature and fixed a fan of peacock tail-feathers to it, with two sword feathers framing the fan on either side. I then covered the keels of the tail feathers with smaller golden feathers.

Like the Queen mask the rest of the mask is covered with peacock body plumage, and this time I used the beetle wings to frame the eye-holes, tying the mask even closer together with its companion.

I think with the bold fan and the striking eye-framing this mask has more of a male, solar aura, whereas the Queen mask with its sickle-shaped sword feather crown and tear-like beetle-wing dangles reminds me of more lunar and feminine aspects.
