Welcome to my Spaceship... by Ellygator Welcome to my Spaceship... by Ellygator
(2018), 3" diameter, delica beads (opaque black, 14 k gold, transparent wine red ab, mauve ab, lilac ab, metallic moss green ab, emerald green ab, green gold), size 15 14k gold, black blue-green fumed magatama beads, fireline.

I finally got my act together and managed to bead a "Fortuneteller bangle" courtesy of the folks on beadmobile.wordpress.com/. It's a combination of a RAW band with zig-zag Peyote and horns and since their descriptions aren't exactly step-by-step it took a while to figure out, but once you have the hang of it it's actually less complicated than it seems.

I really love the elegant flow of the design and I enjoyed working with the rich metallic tourmaline hues of the bead colors I picked.

When do you ever sleep, my friend?! You create so many things, I just can’t keep up!

This bracelet is just fun, from the shape to the colors to the funky profile. I hope you’re considering a smaller, matching pendant that really could hold a fortune!

This was a bit challenge. I saw images of it and some high level "instructions" and could not figure it out. I was thinking I had finally arrived at a level of bead-mastery that was kicking my butt, so I worked up to the challenge with the "Pagoda" and the "Carousel" practicing "wings" and "horns" and right-angle weave starting bands, and finally I was able to put it all together. So now I'm kind of disgustingly smug about the whole thing. I will definitely experiment more!

Yeah, I haven't really found good step-by-step instructions, so you kind of have to build up to it. I used my Pagoda and Carousel projects to get to grips with horns and wings and then finally combined that with the rick-rack band to go full-blown Fortuneteller. I think if you try it all at once from the get-go you may hurt your brain (I know I would have!)

Thank you! It takes a little bit to wrap your mind around it, but once you've done it it seems actually fairly logical and straightforward.

Thank you! I love how the shape changes as you bead this and even when it's done you can bend it and move it, almost like an interactive sculpture...
